The Flutter Dragon once served a source of inspiration for writer witch Carol Louise, who has called the Glimmerverse home since magicfolk returned to the Surface. While watching a group of Flutter Dragons dart around the megaflower fields of the northern meadows, she had the idea to write a fanciful tale about a boy named Alex who tumbles down a jackrabbbit burrow to visit a wondrous land filled with extraordinary imaginary creatures. Louise even included an homage to the Flutter Dragon with her creation of bread-and-butterflies - they have wings of butterered toast, you see- but, of course such a creature could never exist. That's just mad.
